Overseas Accommodation

Neo Global Consultants · Student living overseas

A place to settle.
Space to begin your next chapter.

Plan your overseas accommodation around your campus, budget and everyday needs. Explore the questions that matter before choosing where to live.

Share your destination, move-in dates and preferences so NGC can confirm the accommodation assistance available.

This page collects an enquiry. Availability, prices, suitability and booking terms must be confirmed with the accommodation provider.

Choose your living arrangement

Different options for different priorities.

Use these categories to describe what you need. The options available will depend on your destination, institution, dates and budget.

University accommodation

Ask your institution about its accommodation options, application process, eligibility, contract dates and the location of available residences.

Private student residence

Compare room types, facilities, management arrangements, included services and the provider’s booking conditions.

Shared apartment or house

Clarify whether you are renting a room or sharing responsibility for the whole property, and how bills and shared spaces are managed.

Studio or private apartment

Consider privacy alongside the total cost, furnishings, utilities, commute and responsibilities under the agreement.

Homestay

Ask about meals, household expectations, privacy, transport, check-in arrangements and the process for resolving concerns.

Temporary arrival stay

Consider a short stay while completing your longer-term arrangements. Confirm the checkout date, extension options and cancellation terms.

Look beyond the room photograph

Compare the complete living experience.

What to reviewQuestions to ask
Campus and commute Is it near your actual teaching campus? What is the realistic door-to-door journey and transport cost?
Room and shared facilities Is the bedroom private or shared? Which bathroom, kitchen, laundry and study facilities are included?
Total price Is rent quoted weekly or monthly, per person or per property? Which bills and additional charges are excluded?
Contract dates Do the move-in and move-out dates fit your course? Is there a minimum stay or fixed contract period?
Deposit and payments What must be paid upfront? How are deposits, instalments, receipts and any refund requests handled?
Guarantor or advance rent Does the provider ask for a guarantor, evidence or advance payment? What obligations would be accepted?
Access and maintenance How are building access, repairs, emergencies, accessibility requirements and out-of-hours concerns handled?
Changes and cancellation What happens if your intake changes, you arrive late or cannot travel? Which written conditions apply?
Build a realistic living budget

Rent is only part of the total.

Prepare a budget in the destination currency and record whether each amount is weekly, monthly or a one-time payment.

Regular housing costs

Rent, utilities, internet, laundry and any compulsory service charges that are not already included.

Move-in costs

Deposit, advance rent and essential setup purchases. Confirm which amounts are refundable and under what conditions.

Everyday expenses

Food, local transport, phone connectivity and an allowance for unexpected costs.

Compare like for like: do not treat four weeks as a calendar month. Check the provider’s actual billing schedule, contract duration and total contract price.

Before you commit

Check the property, provider and agreement.

Confirm the exact accommodation

Ask for the full address, room type, occupancy, facilities and contract dates. Check whether photographs show the specific room or an illustrative example.

Verify who is offering the property

Confirm the provider’s identity and authority to offer the accommodation. Independently verify contact and payment details rather than relying only on a forwarded message.

Read the agreement before paying

Review the named parties, rent, deposit, fees, payment dates, house rules, cancellation terms and responsibilities. Ask for clarification before signing unclear or incomplete terms.

Understand any guarantor request

Ask what the guarantor would be responsible for and how long that responsibility continues. Do not assume that providing a guarantor’s name creates only a reference.

Ask about changes to your study or travel plans

Request the written terms for deferral, late arrival, early departure and inability to travel. Do not assume that every deposit or payment can be refunded.

Arrange arrival and check-in

Confirm the check-in time, key collection, contact person and late-arrival procedure. Keep the address and essential contact details available offline.

Record the condition when you move in

Follow the provider’s inventory or check-in process, note existing issues and retain copies of relevant communications and payment records.

This page provides preparation questions rather than local tenancy advice. Contract rights and obligations should be checked for the actual location and agreement.

Questions before booking

Overseas accommodation FAQs.

Does this form reserve accommodation?

No. It sends an assistance enquiry to NGC. A reservation requires separate confirmation with the accommodation provider.

Can I enquire before receiving my admission decision?

Yes. State your admission status and identify any unconfirmed dates. Review cancellation terms carefully before making a financial commitment.

Can you guarantee a room near my campus?

No availability or location guarantee is made through this page. The actual property, commute and booking terms must be confirmed.

Are utilities and meals included in the rent?

Do not assume they are included. Ask for an itemised explanation of rent, utilities, internet, meals and any other charges.

Will I need a guarantor?

Ask the provider about its requirements and any alternatives it accepts. Review the obligations before anyone signs a guarantee.

Can I request accommodation for more than one person?

Yes. Enter the number of occupants and specify whether your budget is per person or combined. Occupancy and suitability must be confirmed with the provider.

What if my intake or travel plans change?

Check the written cancellation, deferral and date-change terms. Contact the provider promptly; refunds or changes should not be assumed.

Can I send my enquiry through email and WhatsApp?

Yes. Review the summary, tick the consent box and use either or both buttons. Press Send in each application.
