Prepare your finances.
Plan your journey.
Bring together your currency needs, travel plans and arrival arrangements before beginning student life overseas.
Use our preparation guide and enquiry form to discuss the assistance you need—from comparing payment options to organising your departure checklist.
Enquiries are subject to confirmation of available assistance. This page does not execute currency transactions, issue insurance or confirm travel bookings.
Separate tuition, living costs and arrival expenses.
Begin with the amount, currency, purpose and payment deadline. Confirm transaction requirements, availability and charges with the relevant provider before proceeding.
Tuition payments
Identify the institution’s payment instructions, accepted payment methods, beneficiary details and payment reference requirements.
Living expenses
Plan how you will access money for accommodation, food, transport and daily needs after arrival.
Initial arrival funds
Consider immediate expenses such as airport transfers, temporary accommodation and essential purchases.
Forex or travel cards
Ask about supported currencies, reload arrangements, usage restrictions, ATM charges and replacement support.
Currency notes
Discuss availability, denominations and applicable purchase, carrying and declaration requirements with the appropriate provider or authority.
Emergency access
Plan what you would do if a card is lost, a payment fails or access to your usual payment method is interrupted.
Confirm the provider: ask who will carry out the transaction, what authorisation applies, what documents are needed and what receipt or confirmation you will receive. No live exchange rate or transaction limit is quoted on this page.
Look beyond the displayed exchange rate.
Request a clear quote and understand what is included before authorising a payment.
| What to check | Questions to ask |
|---|---|
| Final amount payable | What is the total debit in your payment currency, including disclosed charges and applicable taxes? |
| Recipient amount | What amount is expected to reach the institution or beneficiary? Could intermediary or receiving charges apply? |
| Quote validity | How long is the rate valid, and when is it actually confirmed? |
| Payment timing | What processing time is quoted, and how should weekends, holidays or document checks be allowed for? |
| Beneficiary instructions | Have the recipient details and payment reference been independently checked against the institution’s official instructions? |
| Card usage costs | What fees apply to loading, reloading, cash withdrawals, cross-currency transactions or replacement? |
| Cancellation or refund | How would a failed payment, cancellation, unused balance or refund be handled? |
| Documents and records | Which records must you provide, and which transaction confirmations should you retain? |
Plan the journey—not just the flight.
Bring your course start date, travel permissions, accommodation and arrival arrangements into one plan.
Flight preferences
Compare departure airports, arrival airports, connection times, total journey duration and arrival time.
Baggage and fare conditions
Check the allowance and restrictions for the exact ticket. Ask about changes, cancellations and the conditions of any student offer.
Transit questions
Check requirements for the actual itinerary, nationality and travel documents before selecting a connecting route.
Insurance questions
Compare the policy’s scope, exclusions, dates, excess, assistance process and compatibility with any institution requirements.
Accommodation planning
Confirm the address, booking terms, deposit, check-in arrangements and whether temporary accommodation is needed.
Airport and campus arrival
Plan transport, contact numbers, late-arrival arrangements and the route to your accommodation or campus.
Before making a non-refundable commitment: confirm your travel documents, applicable permissions, institution dates and booking conditions. An NGC enquiry does not reserve a fare, room, currency rate or service.

Forex and travel FAQs.
Does submitting this enquiry book a flight or purchase currency?
No. It sends an assistance enquiry to NGC. Any booking or transaction requires separate confirmation with the relevant provider.
Can I request a live exchange rate through this page?
You can ask for guidance, but this page does not display or reserve a live quote. Confirm the rate, validity, charges and total payable amount with the provider handling the transaction.
Can NGC confirm a student baggage allowance?
Ask about the exact airline, route and fare. Do not rely on a general student allowance without checking the conditions of the ticket offered.
Should I choose a forex card, cash or another payment method?
Compare availability, charges, acceptance, security and access to emergency support for your destination. Discuss your needs with the relevant provider rather than relying on one method for every expense.
Can I enquire before my travel dates are final?
Yes. Leave unconfirmed dates blank and indicate your flexibility. Final prices and arrangements must be confirmed separately.
Does insurance information mean a policy has been issued?
No. Review the actual policy terms, exclusions, dates and provider details before purchasing. This enquiry does not create insurance cover.
Do you need passport or bank details in this form?
No. This form collects a planning outline only. Provide any transaction or booking documents later through the relevant provider’s approved process.
Can I send the enquiry by both email and WhatsApp?
Yes. Review the summary, tick the consent box and use either or both buttons. Press Send in each application.
